Working Alongside You

Sometimes a workshop is enough. Sometimes you need someone to get properly involved.

I work alongside teams, organisations and communities to uncover what’s really happening, make sense of what’s getting in the way and turn that understanding into practical action.

That might mean rethinking a service, redesigning how a team works, developing a new income idea, strengthening a partnership, improving community engagement or testing something before investing heavily in it.

The result: clearer direction, stronger decisions, better use of people and resources, and practical next steps you can actually test.

How I work

My approach

My approach

I don’t arrive with a ready-made answer. I start by getting close enough to understand what is really going on — the people, relationships, assumptions, structures, pressures and opportunities around the issue.

Depending on the project, I might:

  • speak with staff, partners or communities
  • observe how something currently works
  • map relationships, roles or systems
  • facilitate difficult or important conversations
  • challenge assumptions and surface hidden barriers
  • research possible approaches
  • develop practical tools or models
  • test ideas in the real world
  • review what happened and decide what comes next

 PAUSE

Create enough space to see the issue clearly rather than reacting to the loudest symptom.

QUESTION

Challenge assumptions, habits and “this is just how we do it” thinking to uncover what is actually getting in the way.

CONNECT

Bring together the people, perspectives and resources that can move the work forward.

EXPERIMENT

Turn ideas into practical tests, learn quickly from what happens and adapt.

Bring me something you’re trying to figure out. Maybe you know what the problem is. Maybe you only know that something feels stuck.

We’ll work together to understand what matters and develop a practical way forward.

What we could work on

What we could work on

What we could work on

Reworking a team or service: Clarify roles, expectations and ways of working when something has grown, shifted or stopped fitting.

Developing income or a business model: Uncover where value already exists, explore new income opportunities and test ideas before investing heavily.

Building stronger partnerships: Get beyond good intentions and create clearer relationships, shared value and practical ways of working together.

Improving community engagement: Understand what people actually need, why they may not be engaging and how to build participation around real human behaviour.

Strengthening culture and communication: Surface avoided conversations, reduce friction and create clearer, healthier ways for people to work together.

Testing a new idea: Take something out of the strategy document and put it into the real world before committing significant time or money.

Tailored Projects

What we could work on

What we could work on

Bring me something you’re trying to figure out. Maybe you know exactly what the problem is. Maybe you just know something feels stuck.

We’ll define the issue, involve the right people, work out what matters most and build a practical route forward.

Projects can be short and focused or run over several weeks, depending on what is needed.

Then your costs:

Investment

Smaller pieces of work start from £600.

Longer projects are quoted as a fixed project fee based on the scope, timescale and level of involvement required.

We’ll agree the outcomes, approach and cost before we start.

Experiment Lab

Got something you want to change, test or figure out?

Over 4–8 weeks, we use Pause → Question → Connect → Experiment to understand what’s happening, build an idea, test it in the real world and learn from what happens. This is for organisations that don’t want another strategy sitting on a shelf.

We make the experiment small enough to test, meaningful enough to learn from and practical enough to actually do.

We could experiment with:

  • team structures
  • new income ideas
  • partnership models
  • community engagement
  • meeting culture
  • staff wellbeing
  • new services
  • cross-sector collaboration
  • ways of communicating
  • how people use a new system or platform

Typical format:

  • 4–8 weeks
  • Discovery
  • Facilitated session(s)
  • Practical experiment
  • Review
  • Next steps

From £2,200 depending on scope.
